Kaley – Green Wing Macaw

We are sad to say that Kaley has passed away. She suffered a prolapse of her rectum and despite surgery, we were unable to save her.

Kaley is a 25 – 30 year old Female Green Wing Macaw who is looking for a new home.

Kaley came to Birdline from the BC rescue 2 years back, and she has come a long way since arriving. She has mostly grown back almost all of her feathers and we do see a pattern of snipping during hormone season.

She did lay 2 eggs last year but we have been able to keep her occupied with other things that have discouraged her from laying any so far this year.

Kaley enjoys hanging out on her cage and a small playstand, she eats Harrisons pellets and receives fresh fruit and vegetables along with a small amount of bird seed each morning.

Kaley will benefit from an experienced macaw owner. She will bite those who stick their fingers towards her, so we do not recommend families with small children to apply. Kaley would prefer a mature home to match her laid back personality.
