In Loving Memory

Blazer – African Grey

Update… we are sad to report that Blazer died suddenly on March 5. A necropsy is being performed to see if we can determine what the cause of death was, but it looks like it was just his time. Blazer had found love in his foster home, as was instrumental in being a ‘therapy bird’ for an autistic child. He was deeply loved, and loved the people in his home and he will be forever missed by the family. We loved you, Blazer!

Blazer is a 17 1/2 year old DNA male African Grey that was surrendered due to lack of time.

Blazer lived in 3 previous homes before coming to Birdline and was adopted 3 years ago into a loving family with a few other greys.

Unfortunately life changes have forced the family to make the decision to return Blazer to Birdline.

Blazer is best suited to be an only bird and would need a male companion.  He tolerates females but really doesn’t like them to much.

While an experienced home would be preferred, he is pretty well adjusted and could potentially do fine with someone who has SOME large bird experience and not necessarily of the grey species.  He likes to spend his time in his cage and on his cage and doesn’t normally wander around on the floor.

He likes his Harrisons pellets and fresh veges and fruit.

If you are looking for a talkative boy who loves to mimic various power tools – this a grey for you!
